Automobiles in Germany's City Found Marked with Nazi Symbols in Human Blood, Law Enforcement Report

Incident location Affected vehicle Area Law Enforcement
Officers mentioned they were alerted by a resident who discovered a vehicle in Hanau marked with red-colored fluid

Approximately 50 vehicles have been covered with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the German municipality of Hanau close to Frankfurt, police confirm law enforcement.

Vehicles, building surfaces and postal boxes were vandalized, in some cases with swastikas, they announced in a official communication.

Officers state they were contacted in the late hours on Wednesday, when a resident observed that a automobile in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been covered with a red-colored substance.

The liquid had been drawn in the pattern of a banned symbol, they added.

Officers then located numerous other smeared automobiles and building exteriors in the surrounding area.

Swastikas are prohibited in Germany under regulations prohibiting the public display of symbols from the Nazi era.

Police state initial examinations show the liquid was most likely human blood.

"Currently there is no lead as to its source; authorities are presently not cognizant of any injuries in relation with the occurrence," they stated.

City officials stated they were trying "to solve the case" and have requested to the public for information.

A high-ranking political figure stated the attack left him speechless and had to be solved promptly.

"This act strikes at the very heart of Hanau and reawakens the wounds of the far-right terrorist attack in 2020," he stated on social media, mentioning the murder of nine individuals by a gunman targeting individuals of foreign heritage in five years prior.
