Heads-up: Spoilers for Episode 3 of this adventure follow below.
The Soldiers Table Revealed
The latest chapter concluded with a major cliffhanger and revealed the first table of heroes who will separate from the main group to begin their separate journey, separate from the other two tables.
This warrior group includes Teor Pridesire (brought to life by the voice actor), the agile character (Laura Bailey), the strong-willed figure (Whitney Moore), Wicander (Sam), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie Daymond).
The Reason for Division
Given a large ensemble, it was evident from the beginning that keeping everyone at one table would be impossible.
Hence, the initial installments of the new season serve as an Prelude, weaving together the characters’ stories before branching into three smaller tables: Soldiers, Planners, and Explorers.
The Nature of the Warrior Group
As described by the Dungeon Master, the combat-focused party is for participants who are drawn to a typically action-packed fight-heavy gameplay experience where diplomatic options are few and far between.
Upon first impression, figures such as the squeamish cleric the cleric might look mismatched, but the events of the third episode show why these five characters are ideally matched for the Soldiers table.
Reasons to Leave
First, the group knows exactly where to head next after a intense first encounter with The Crow Keepers.
An old friend of Thjazi—whose demise initiated the campaign’s events—exploited The Crow Keepers for his selfish purposes, entering the secret base, assaulting Thimble, and taking all the enchanted items to auction.
Casimir then settled his liabilities and ran away to a secure base in Gormalay, Timmony, beyond the urban center, with Cyd hot on his heels.
Individual Reasons
Moreover, each character has a specific drive to leave the city Dol-Makjar:
- Thimble, as the companion and best friend, desires revenge.
- The adventurer has experience in Timmony and warns that it is a nasty place.
- The strong character and The cleric, having defied his relatives’ demands to eliminate the target and instead freed him, have nowhere else to go.
- Yet, their reputation as important members in the influential clan could help the team enter areas they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Moreover, Teor swore a life debt to The cleric for his salvation and will now accompany him everywhere.
Wanted and Hunted
In addition, all of them are sought by the powers that rule Dol-Makjar for a multiple motives, making remaining behind too risky:
- The rogue and Kattigan are notorious outlaws.
- The warrior and The cleric betrayed the influential house and the army of fiends they are allied with.
- The fighter is targeted for elimination by the clan.
This means them few options but to travel to the northern region in search of Casimir.
